Knobelsdorff Electric is a family-owned company. Because of this, we understand how strong and supportive family ties can be, which is why Knobelsdorff employees are family, too. Today, I'd like to introduce you to one of our employees: Brandon, Senior Project Manager.
Brandon has been with Knobelsdorff just over 15 years. He started here right out of school, first working as an apprentice electrician to become a journeyman. As a journeyman electrician, he worked his way up to foreman before becoming a senior project manager.
As a senior project manager, Brandon is in charge of operations for a handful of our bigger projects. He works both from the office and on-site, focusing on both solar and large agricultural setups. He manages each project to ensure everyone on his team has the equipment and resources to get the job done.
Since Brandon worked his way up through the company, he brings an expert perspective when managing projects. In addition to being the project manager, he truly knows what it's like to be an apprentice electrician, a journeyman and a foreman. This understanding helps him manage projects more effectively.
Variety of Work
While Brandon doesn't have a typical workday, that's one of the things he likes about working with Knobelsdorff. He'll be the first to tell you his preference for working on different types of projects and not doing the same thing every day. The variety of work not only gives Brandon the opportunity to grow and learn, it also keeps his work interesting. When you're always learning, growing and switching things up, it's practically impossible to get bored.
He enjoys taking additional classes to grow his capabilities and then having the opportunity to hone those skills on-site. Even as a project manager, Brandon still gets to perform hands-on work. It's not uncommon for him to be working with fiber optic cables one day and splicing medium voltage cables the next.
When I asked Brandon to share his favorite part of working at Knobelsdorff, he shared how much he enjoys the people he works with. Because of his role as senior project manager, he works with just about everybody in the company. He also enjoys how everyone is always willing to help each other figure out issues and roll up their sleeves to help get a job done. Whether an issue is big or small, he knows he can rely on anybody in the company to lend a hand.
